Voltage regulator output current.

Hardware design

What does the output current of the regulator specifically mean? I see that the IC’s specification says "300mA output current", does it mean that the maximum output current is 300mA?

If I connect this regulator to 4 ICs, can each IC consume 100mA? If two such ICs are connected, can each consume 100mA current?

The situation of 4 ICs depends on your voltage regulator. It is either turned off, or only transmits 300mA current, or transmits 400mA current and then burns out.

In the second case, if the thermal performance of your components is good, it is directly rated at 100mA.

The maximum value, as long as your load current demand is less than or equal to 300mA, it can operate normally.

This is obviously the maximum value, which can also be said to be the rated value. If it exceeds it, it will not work properly.
